Funeral service for Virgie Pearl Roberson, age 82 of Arcadia, LA will be held at 10:00 AM, Wednesday, August 26, 2026 at Owens Memorial Chapel with Rev. Jerrel Boudoin officiating. Services are under the direction of Owens Memorial Chapel Funeral Home of Ruston, LA.
Virgie was born on April 20, 1944 in West Carroll Parish, LA and she passed away peacefully Sunday, August 23, 2026 at home in Arcadia, LA. Virgie was the fifth daughter born to Alvin and Mary Lou Coats, soon followed by a son and another daughter. When those Coats girls and their brother got together, it was loud, chaotic, and always full of laughter.
Virgie married Jerry, the love of her life, on October 26, 1961. Together they raised five children. She will always be his Pearl.
Virgie passed on a legacy of love, faith, and family, which she inherited from her mother. She always had a smile and a hug for everyone. She always said that she wasn’t given a “talent”, but her life proved otherwise. Not only did she have a green thumb, both hands were green. Virgie loved her gardens and her flowers, and if you left her house hungry, it was not her fault.
Virgie is preceded in death by her parents and three grandchildren, Todd Cripps, Matthew Roberson, and Shelby Roberson. She is survived by her husband of almost 65 years, Jerry Roberson; daughters, Terri and husband David Frasier of Ruston, LA, and Angie and husband Eric Mayo of Winnsboro, LA; sons, Scottie Roberson and wife Tina of Ruston, LA, Gary Roberson and wife Stephanie of Choudrant, LA, and Randy Roberson of Taylor; seventeen grandchildren; 38 great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Betty and husband Jerrel Boudoin of Jamestown, LA; numerous nieces and nephews, and a host of other family and friends.
The family would like to thank Premier Hospice, especially Jackie Bradford and Sonya Gray, for all their care and kindness.
Visitation will be from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM, Tuesday, August 25, 2026 at Owens Memorial Chapel Funeral Home. If you would like to leave an online memorial message for the family, please visit: www.owensmemorialfuneralhome.com
