Funeral services for Mrs. Urilda Elizabeth Smith, age 95 of Jonesboro will be held at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, May 30, 2020 at First Baptist Church of Jonesboro with Rev. Geary Phillips officiating.  Interment will follow in Liberty Hill Cemetery in Liberty Hill under the direction of Owens Memorial Chapel Funeral Home of Ruston, LA.

Rilda was born January 7, 1925 in Jonesboro, LA and passed away May 28, 2020. She retired as a beautician after over thirty years.  Rilda was a Sunday School teacher for over fifty years and was a dedicated member of First Baptist Church of Jonesboro.  She loved her grand kids and great grandkids.

Rilda is preceded in death by her husband of 38 years, Dennis Smith; two sisters: Virginia Stringer and Helen Frances Robertson.

She is survived by her sons: Dennis Smith and wife Peggy, James "Bud" Smith and wife Sherri , both of Jonesboro, LA, Charlie Smith and wife Daphne of Quitman, LA; daughter, Elizabeth and husband Cody Cheatwood, of Jonesboro, LA; grandchildren: D.J. Smith and wife Angela, Chris Smith and wife Sommer, both of Jonesboro, LA, Casey Smith and wife Carlie of Georgetown, LA, Charlie Smith, Jr. , Hailey Conn, Zachary Cheatwood and Jacob Cheatwood and fiancé Kori, all of Jonesboro, LA and numerous great grandchildren, nieces and other relatives and friends.

Serving as pall bearers will be D.J. Smith, Chris Smith, Casey Smith, Charlie Smith, Jr., Zachary Cheatwood and Jacob Cheatwood.
