Graveside services for Travis Dean Hood, 86 of Goose Creek Community will be held at 2:00 P.M., Tuesday, September 1, 2020 at St. Rest Cemetery with Rev. Randy Ray officiating. Services will be under the direction of Owens Memorial Chapel Funeral Home of Ruston, LA.

Travis was born in Dubach, LA to Jesse LaVelle Hood and Jessie Omega Cooper Hood. He was the youngest of five children. Travis was a member of St. Rest Baptist Church. He retired from Louisiana Tech University with Building and Grounds department.  Prior to this he worked as a carpenter. He loved to hunt, work in his garden and play baseball.  Many will remember him as "coach" of the men's softball teams.  Others who knew and loved him call him "Trap" or "Uncle Trap".

Travis is preceded in death by the love of his life his wife of fifty-seven years Margie "Marge" Doss Hood; brothers: Marvis Hood of Ruston, LA and Prentis Hood of Homer, LA; sisters Susie Gilbert of Las Vegas, NV and Bobbie Turlington of Tatum, Texas.

Travis is survived by many nieces and nephews: Andy Turlington (Candy) of Wichita Falls, TX, Tanya Turlington of Garland, TX, Mitch Hood of Franklinton, Janie Hood of Ruston, LA, Tommy Doss (Donna)

Of Hico, Wayne Houck (Doyce) of Ruston, LA, Linda Jane Gilleland of Shreveport, LA, Janet Jackson (Robert) of Hico and Sheila Baines (Claude) of Shreveport, LA.
