Obituary

Travis Norman Hall, age 86 of North Hodge, passed away peacefully after a brief illness, surrounded by his family.  His military service included six years in the US Air Force and an additional twenty years in the Louisiana National Guard. He was a retired millwright, having been employed by Stone Container Corp for thirty-five years.  Travis was a faithful longtime member of Hodge Baptist Church serving as a deacon and teaching his Sunday School class.  He served his community as alderman and two terms as Mayor.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Leland and Irma Hall.

Travis is survived by his wife of sixty-one years, Mary Ann; son Mike Hall of Quitman; daughter Kathy and husband Earl Kelley of Whitehouse, TX and son Bryan Hall of Haughton, LA; four grandchildren: Nathan Kelley and wife Cherie of Tyler, TX, David Kelley and wife Kelli of Tyler, TX, Megan and husband Jonathan Crissey of Flint, TX and Mason Hall of Haughton, LA and three great-grandchildren.  His is also survived by his brother Emmett Hall and wife Betty of Jonesboro, LA, along with numerous nieces and nephews and a host of friends. Travis will be greatly missed by his little red four-legged companion, Rusty.

Serving as pallbearers will be Mike Hall, Bryan Hall, Earl Kelley, Nathan Kelley, David Kelley and Jonathan Crissey. Honorary pallbearers are the Deacons and the members of the Brothers in Christ Sunday School class of Hodge Baptist Church.

Due to the current health situation, a private family visitation will be held prior to the graveside service at 3:00 P.M., Saturday, August 15, 2020 at Longstraw Cemetery, Choudrant, LA with Rev. Keith Tomas officiating. The public is invited. Services will be under the direction of Owens Memorial Chapel Funeral Home of Ruston, LA.
