Obituary

Toni Rose Troiano was born March 27, 1948 in Oakland, CA and went home to be with the Lord on April 12, 2022.  Toni was born to Matthew Mario Troiano and Phyllis Virginia Dempsey Mitchell and was the oldest of six children.  She graduated from Amador High School in Pleasanton, CA in 1965.

Toni went on to join the Navy in June, 1967.  She did her training in Bainbridge, MD and was stationed in San Diego, CA.  Toni served as a Dental Assistant during Vietnam and was honorably discharged June, 1970.  She was a California girl at heart until she met a Southern charmer who brought her to God's Country, Baskin, LA.  Toni accomplished many things during her life.  She was a mother, daughter, sister, cousin, aunt, niece, friend, and so much more to so many.

Toni was a former President of the Janes, as well as, former Director of the Miss Louisiana Pageant.  Toni was once Secretary to the Sports Director at ULM and ran the scoreboard at all of the football and basketball games.  While at ULM she earned several degrees.  Toni had a Bachelor's Degree in General Studies and a Master's Degree in Substance Abuse Counseling.  Before retiring Toni worked as Band Secretary at Louisiana Tech University.   Toni was an active member of St. Thomas Aquinas in Ruston, LA.  While still attending she took great pride in being an usher for the church.  She was also a life long Elvis fan, couldn't resist the daily crossword puzzle and if Law and Order was on the television you could bet on her finding an episode.  Toni is preceded in death by her father, Matthew Mario Troiano; mother, Phyllis Virginia Dempsey Mitchell; step-father, Ferris Mitchell; and grandson, Tristen Alexander Lord.

She is survived by; her siblings: Diana May and husband, Rick; Joseph Troiano and wife, Patti; Matthew Troiano and wife, Denise; Michael Troiano and wife, Melinda; Timothy Troiano and wife, Amanda; her children:  Dan Lord of Simsboro, LA; Troy Lord and wife, Leah of Choudrant, LA; David Lord and wife, Melissa of Ruston, LA; Heath Lord of Monroe, LA; Ginger Ray and husband, Michael of Ruston, LA; grandchildren:  Christian, Kirsten, Logan, Lucas, Khayan, Abigail, Brooklyn, Charles Heath (Cholly Mac), Halie and Kale; great-grandchildren:  Greysen and Ayden along with numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, friends, former colleagues and brothers and sisters in Christ.
