Funeral services for Mr. Thomas "Buzzy" Woods, age 78 of Choudrant, LA will be held at 2:00 PM, Monday, February 16, 2026 at New Hope Baptist Church in Choudrant with Rev. Werner Aswell officiating. Burial will follow in New Hope Cemetery under the direction of Owens Memorial Chapel Funeral Home of Ruston, LA.

Buzzy was born on June 24, 1947 in Ruston, LA to L B Norris and Herbert Ace Woods and he passed away on Sunday, February 15, 2026 in Ruston.  He was a life long member of New Hope Baptist Church and was a Sunday School teacher there.

Buzzy was retired from the United States Air Force. He worked at the Ammunition Plant in Minden for many years and the Lincoln Parish School Board where he was a substitute teacher at Choudrant High School and worked maintenance. He also worked for Lincoln General Hospital in maintenance. Buzzy liked to build electronic gadgets in his spare time and enjoyed watching his goldfish, in which he had many. He loved taking walks outside with his grandson Bill enjoying the outdoors and spending time in his garden.

Buzzy was preceded in death by his parents and his stepson, Billy Burton Woodall. He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Charline; grandchildren, Branda "Panda Bear" Woodall and Bill "Sitting Bull" Woodall; great grandchildren, Brydan and Jethro; and a host of other family and friends.

Serving as pallbearers will be Layne Parnell, Royce Colvin, Stacy Jones, Don Pylant, Billy Woodall, and Alan Davis.

Visitation will be held from 1:00 PM until service time at New Hope Baptist Church.
