Funeral services for Mr. Theron Ginn, age 79 of Choudrant, LA are scheduled for 2:00 PM, Tuesday, August 31, 2021 at Owens Memorial Chapel in Ruston, LA.  Officiating the service will be Rev. Greg Tipton.  Burial will follow in New Hope Cemetery under the direction of Owens Memorial Chapel Funeral Home.

Theron was born in Ruston to the union of Willie Henry Ginn and Audrey Mae Futrell Ginn on August 7, 1942 and died on August 27, 2021.  He retired from the Lincoln Parish Police Jury after 30 years with the highway department where he excelled as a motor grader operator.  He built many roads in Lincoln Parish.  Theron loved fox hunting and listening to the hounds.  He always wanted to be outside and enjoyed fishing. Theron loved spending time with his horses. He would buy colts and raise and train them.  Theron will be remembered as being a prankster, as many of his coworkers and family will attest.

Theron is survived by his wife of 55 years, Rita Frasier Ginn; one daughter, Dana and husband Mike Land and one son, Shane Ginn and wife Amy, all of Ruston; three grandchildren:  Casen Hennigan, Brayden Ginn and Adalynn Ginn.  He is also survived by his sister, Penny Howard of Choudrant and his brother, Thelton Ginn and wife Dianne of Ruston, numerous nieces and nephews and friends.  He is preceded in death by his parents and infant sister, Eloise Ginn.

Serving as pallbearers will be:  Printiss Wade, Reggie Hammons, Justin Frasier, Kane Frasier, Kane Kennimer and Wayne Hammons.  Honorary pallbearers are: Mike Land, Max Otwell, Barry Frasier, Ricky Barmore and Rodney Colvin.

Visitation will be held prior to the service on Tuesday from 12:00 PM until time of service.
