Obituary

Memorial services for Susan "Susie" Lynn Turner, age 54 of Monroe, LA will be held at 2:00PM, Friday, May 27, 2022 at Rock Corner Baptist Church in Dubach with Rev. Stan Pody officiating. Burial will follow in the Mineral Springs Cemetery in Dubach under the direction of Owens Memorial Chapel Funeral Home of Ruston, LA.

Susie was born February 22, 1968 in Ruston, LA, and she passed away May 22, 2022 in Monroe, LA. Susie graduated high school and then went on to Louisiana Tech, where she graduated with honors with a degree in medical technology. She was working as a laboratory technician in the lab at Richland Medical Center. Susie liked to travel, especially to the mountains. She loved her family, which included her two dogs, and she loved spending time with her granddaughters. Susie also enjoyed going to Rock Corner Church, where she was a member. She also enjoyed spending time with her husband, John, and taking the grandchildren on horse rides on their farm. Susie is preceded in death by her grandparents: Dalton and Ruby "Granny" Williamson; her dad, Mike Hancock; her grandparent, Nancy Cooper; and her birth mother, Marsha Sue Williamson Cooper.

Susie is survived by her two beloved pets: Fell and Delgato; her best friend and loving husband of twelve years: John Turner of Monroe, LA; five sons: Christopher Lee Helmer, Rayshaun Mardis of San Diego, CA, Jeff Turner and wife, Jennifer, of Austin, TX, Christopher Lee Turner and wife, Erin, of Bastrop, LA, and William Turner and wife, Tori, of Sulphur Springs, TX; daughter Callie Rose Turner of Fayetteville, AR; seven grandchildren: Kaylee Helmer, Kyle Ricks and wife, Rachel, Dilan Ricks and wife, Hannah, Elizabeth "Lizzie" Turner, Keller Rose Turner, Ella Lee Turner, and Levi June Turner; one great-granddaughter: Lillie Ricks; her mom: Sheila Hancock; siblings: Leah and husband, Billy Dowden, of Dubach, LA, Cheryl and husband, Wade Shikoski, of Winston Salem, NC, Steve Hancock and wife, Patty, of Dubach, LA, and Lamar Hancock and wife, Shelia, of Choudrant, LA, and numerous nieces, nephews, other family members, and a host of friends.
