With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Song Hui Franklin, who left us peacefully on Friday, October 30, 2026, at the age of 77. Song Hui Hyong was born to father Chae Ho Hyong and mother Chiong Hio Cho on August 28,1949 in South Korea.
Song Hui lived a life marked by love, kindness, service, and devotion to family and friends. Whether through a warm smile, a helping hand, or simply being there when needed most, she touched countless lives and made lasting memories with all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Song Hui worked for over 30 years in the Lincoln Parish School System splitting time between both Simsboro High School and Ruston Elementary. Song Hui found joy in cooking, gardening, and yard work, but nothing brought greater happiness than spending time with loved ones. Although her nature was direct at times, she had a unique way of making people feel welcomed, valued, and loved, and those gifts will be remembered forever.
Song Hui is lovingly remembered by her husband of 53 years, Ronald Franklin; son, Joseph Franklin (wife DeAnn Franklin); daughter, Elizabeth Wilson (husband Ty Wilson); and grandchildren, Matthew Franklin and Sarah Franklin. She is also survived by sister-in-law, Ann Ivey, sister-in-law, Robyn Franklin, niece, Laura Taylor and her family and a wide circle of extended family domestically and abroad. Though our hearts ache in her absence, we find comfort in the many stories, laughs, and moments of love that will remain with us always.
In accordance with her wishes, cremation has taken place. Her ashes will be scattered in the Florida Keys by family in a private ceremony where lasting memories will be shared and a life well lived will be honored. Rather than saying goodbye, we hold close the lessons, laughter, and love Song Hui gave so freely. She will forever remain in our hearts and in the lives she touched.
