Funeral services for Mrs. Shirley Evans Pierce, age 90, of Ruston, will be held at 10:00 AM, Friday, August 2, 2019, at Owens Memorial Chapel with Rev. Bob Deich and Rev. Hulen Warren officiating.  Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery under the direction of Owens Memorial Chapel Funeral Home of Ruston.

Mrs. Pierce was born February 7, 1929, in Baton Rouge, LA.  She died in Ruston, July 29, 2019.  Mrs. Pierce was the owner/operator of an Electric Motor Repair Service.  She was a longtime member of Grace United Methodist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert K. and Grace Harris; husbands, Howard A. Evans and Lonzo Pierce; sons, Jahue Self and Kelvin Self.

Mrs. Pierce is survived by her son, Thomas Evans of Ruston; granddaughter, Georgia Grace Evans of Ruston;  sister, Flossie Howard of Denham Springs; numerous nieces and nephews and extended family; and her important special friend, Sally Blount of Ruston.

Visitation will be from 9:00 AM, Friday until service time at Owens Memorial Chapel in Ruston.
