Sharon Ruth Hicks Cross, age 69 of Marion, LA, loving mother of two, grandmother of seven, great grandmother of one, and adoring (and patient) wife of over 50 years to Lonnie Edward Cross, Jr. passed away on July 27, 2022 surrounded by her family at her daughters' home in Hot Springs Village, AR after a brief battle with Glioblastoma was fought on her own terms.

Sharon was born on April 30, 1953 to Patty Mavorneen Crow Hicks and Bobby Earl Hicks in Marion, LA and was always taught Christian values and the importance of faith and family. Being raised with a large family full of cousins, time was spent with grandparents, summers in the gardens enjoying watermelon and fresh corn; those values spilled into adulthood and are how Sharon grew her family. Though Sharon wasn't too happy when she had to share her parents with a baby brother, she did grow to love and cherish him like no other. She loved having a large family, and holidays were her favorite because she knew her family would all be together. As her family grew, there was never an activity a grandchild had she didn't make; she was their biggest fan. Just 9-months ago, her and Lonnie, her parents, her son and daughter-in-law, and her daughter and son-in law all danced on the same dancefloor together when one grandchild got married and started a new life.

Sharon was an active member of First Baptist Church Marion in Marion, LA. There, she enjoyed singing in the choir and raised her children in the same church where she was also raised. Sharon joined in heaven her maternal grandparents, Fannie Ruth Scarborough Crow and James Edward Crow, and paternal grandparents, Myra Estelle Hicks and John Earl Hicks. She was also met by lifelong friend, that without a doubt was met with a lot of laughter, her "Sissy", Susan Reppond.

Left to continue their temporary journey, her survivors are her husband, Lonnie Edward Cross, Jr. of Marion, LA; daughter and son-in-law, Mysti and Bruce LaCaze of Hot Springs Village, AR; son and daughter-in-law, Jerod and Carmen Cross of Sterlington, LA; grandchildren: Lexie LaCaze Billings (Kalon) of Sterlington, LA; Sharon-Laura Bankston Harvey (Jordan) of Hot Springs Village, AR; Hannah Cross of West Monroe, LA; Carlie Bankston (Cade Gullette) of Hot Springs Village, AR; Connor Bankston of Winnsboro, LA; Ella Cross of Sterlington, LA; Lonimarie LaCaze of Hot Springs Village, AR; great-grandchild, Sophia Billings of Sterlington, LA; parents, Bobby Earl and Patty Hicks of Marion, LA; brother and sister-in-law, Robert Lynn and Sheree Hicks of Rocky Branch, LA; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and special friends.

Serving as pallbearers will be Darren Berry, Keith Bowen, Jerry Baker, Jerry Allen, Terry Hicks, Gary Crow, Bubba Jones.
