Born on February 15, 1939, in Ruston, Louisiana, Samuel was a lifelong member of the Ruston community. He built a life centered around faith, family, hard work, and friendship.

Samuel graduated from Ruston High School in 1957 before attending Louisiana Tech University, where he earned a degree in Business and was a member of Kappa Sigma fraternity and Delta Sigma Pi. A dedicated businessman with a strong work ethic, he owned and operated White Motors Buick GMC Dealership and Ben’s Wrecking Yard. Through his years in business, Samuel built lasting relationships and earned the respect of many throughout the community.

He was also a longtime member of the Ruston Kiwanis Club, reflecting his commitment to serving others and giving back to the community he called home.

Samuel enjoyed spending time with his coffee groups, hunting club, and his Monday pizza group, where the fellowship was always good, but losing the coin toss and having to pick up the tab was never his favorite part of the gathering. These simple traditions, filled with laughter, good conversation, and lifelong friendships, brought him great joy.

Samuel also held a special place in his heart for his beloved dogs, Zach and Zeke, who were his loyal friends and faithful companions.

Samuel is survived by his devoted wife of 64 years, Mary Kay Colvin White; his son, Steve White and Mary Jane; his beloved grandchildren, Lexi White Burch and husband Garrett Burch, Brad White, Dillon White and Aubrey Prewitt, and Laura White Cupp and husband Bryan Cupp; his great-grandchild, Emory Kay Cupp; his daughter-in-law, Neice White; his brothers-in-law and their wives, Cal and Joyce Colvin and Don and Alisha Colvin; along with numerous cherished nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Monday, November 9, 2026, from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at the Episcopal Church of the Redeemer in Ruston, Louisiana.
