Obituary

Ruth Hagel Wall was born in Transylvania, LA on September 18, 1929 and passed away peacefully at her home in Ruston, LA on September 23, 2021 after a brief illness.

Ruth was a Louisiana Tech Alumnus with both her bachelor's and master's degrees in Business Administration and loved watching the Lady Techsters play basketball. In 1966 she was the first woman in Lincoln Parish to pass the Notary Exam. After retiring from Diamond Industries, she continued her career in real estate.  Ruth also enjoyed her time spent working with The Pierian Club, Woman's Department Club, Cosmos Club, and The Littera.

She is preceded in death by her two sons, Richard D. "Doug" Wall, Jr. and Charles William Wall; her parents, Jack and Marie Hagel, and her sister, Hattie Fay Hagel Ford.

She is survived by her brother John Amandus Hagel and wife Josephine of Lake Providence, LA, her two daughters-in-law: Celia Harrell Wall of Dubach, LA and Sharon Ayres Wall of Cypress, TX, and her four grandchildren: Misty Yeich and husband Brian of Wilmore, KY; Michael Wall and wife Nicole of El Reno, OK; Nathan Wall and wife Jamie of Cypress, TX; and Marsha Smith and husband Jason of Ruston, LA.  She is also survived by nine great-grandchildren: Matthew Yeich and wife Shelby, Daniel Yeich, Sarah Yeich, Samantha Wall, Austin Riley, Logan Smith, Victoria Wall, Caitlyn French, and Chloe French, as well as, one great-great grandson, Bryles Yeich, and several nieces and nephews.

The family would like to express their gratitude to the wonderful ladies of Tender Touch Caregiving Service of Simsboro, LA and to Premier Hospice of Arcadia, LA for the excellent care of Ruth during her final days with us.
