Graveside services for Ruel Gene Roberson, Sr. will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, April 5, 2021, at Fellowship Baptist Cemetery in Dubach, LA, with Rev. Cory Bruce and Rev. Barry Joyner. Services will be under the direction of Owens Memorial Chapel Funeral Home, in Ruston, LA. Visitation will be held prior to the service from 10:00 AM – 11:00 AM at Fellowship Baptist Church in Dubach, LA.

Ruel Gene Roberson, Sr. (Paw), age 89, of Dubach, LA, passed away peacefully at home on April 2, 2021. Ruel Gene was born on August 13, 1931 in the Fellowship Community to Ruel F. and Nannie McCurry Roberson. Ruel Gene was an Army Veteran, retired USPS employee, deacon of First Baptist Church in Dubach, LA, community helper, wonderful husband, father, and most of all, a Christian example to everyone he met.

Paw loved woodworking, gardening, stained glass, painting, cross-word puzzles, being involved in projects around the community, and spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Paw loved his family and was proud of all accomplishments – large or small. He loved his Lord, and showed that love by the way he loved his life. Paw is surely going to be missed on this earth, but he is smiling down from Heaven, encouraging us to be strong and live in faith with God.

Ruel Gene is survived by his wife of 63 years, Betty Delony Roberson; son, Robby Roberson and wife Karen; daughter-in-law, Donna Roberson; grandchildren, Ryan Roberson and wife Laura, Savannah Martin, Summer Miller and husband Chris Miller, Stockton Roberson, Ryder Roberson and Anna Larr Roberson; great-grandchildren, Nick Martin, Blaine Miller, Levi Miller, Ava Roberson and Reynolds Roberson.

Ruel Gene is preceded in death by his parents, and one son, Ronald K. (Ronny) Roberson.
