Rachel Scaife Crosslin, age 79, of Shreveport, Louisiana, passed away peacefully on November 6, 2024. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, whose sassy spirit will be deeply missed by her family and friends.
Rachel was preceded in death by her son, James Michael Prisock, her parents, James Elmo & Miriam Sansing Scaife, and her sister, Becky Scaife White, along with her husband, Stephens Marcus White Jr.
During her children's formative years, Rachel was a dedicated homemaker. Her love for animals, especially her cherished cats, brought immense joy to her life. As a courageous recovering alcoholic, she used her experiences to help others by opening the first addiction and recovery book and gift store in the Shreveport-Bossier area, providing valuable resources and support to the community. Her strength and determination inspired many, and her contributions will be fondly remembered.
Rachel is survived by her two daughters, Paige Prisock Robinson and her husband Gary, and Julia Prisock DePesa and her husband Marc. She also leaves behind eight grandchildren: James Mejias and his wife Jerrica, Jessica Smith and her husband McGraw, Lacey LaBauve, Giovanni DePesa and his wife Sarah, Colton Wellhausen and his wife Hanna, Aly Terrill and her husband Tim, Marissa and her husband Cody, and Dominic DePesa, along with nine great-grandchildren, all of whom will carry her memory in their hearts.
Graveside services for Mrs. Crosslin are scheduled for 2:00 PM, Friday, November 8, 2024, at Greenwood Cemetery in Ruston, with Mrs. Ashley Boggs officiating. Services are under the direction of Owens Memorial Chapel Funeral Home of Ruston. Visitation will be held from 12:30 PM until 1:30 PM, Friday, November 8, 2024, at Owens Memorial Chapel.
