Services celebrating the life of Rachel Carpenter will be held at 10:00 AM, Wednesday, November 6, 2019 at Owens Memorial Chapel with Pastor Chris Witt officiating. Burial will follow in the Alabama Baptist Cemetery in Arcadia under direction of Owens Memorial Chapel Funeral Home of Ruston, LA.

Rachel was born in Coushatta, LA on December 29, 1961. She passed away on November 3, 2019. She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister and friend.  Rachel loved her grandchildren and her cat, Tiger.  She liked sitting out on the front porch drinking her sweet tea and she loved to eat Mexican food with her family and friends.  She preceded in death by her parents Charles Perry (Pat) Brown and Betty Brown.

Left to cherish her memory are her daughters: Kim Cranford and Candice Cripe; three grandchildren: Trevor, Cindy Rose and Jocelynn; siblings: Linda Burr, Mike Culpepper and wife Rachael, Cathy Smith and husband John, Charlie Brown and wife Carol, Claudette Wright and husband Randy, Suzanne Goodwin and husband Kelly and Patricia Gainous and numerous nieces and nephews and friends.  She is also survived by a very special friend Diane DuBois who loved and helped take care of her, as well as other very close friends that helped.

Serving as pallbearers are Hunter Brown, Kelly Goodwin, Stephen Hodge, Chad Wright, Randy Wright, Jeffery Smith, Billy Christy and Trevor Cripe.

Visitation will be from 9:00AM until service time Wednesday at Owens Memorial Chapel.  Memorials may be made to the Muscular Dystrophy Association.
