It is with great sadness that the family of Peggy Joyce Senn Bird announce her passing on August 25, 2018 following a lengthy illness. She was born April 18, 1932 to her parents Herman Senn, Sr. and Macie Kelly Senn in Farmerville, LA. She is preceded in death by her husband  Kenneth Rogers Bird, they were married on July 3, 1952. She is survived by her daughter, Kathy Bird of New York City, NY;  Sons, Kenny Bird and wife Teresa of Simsboro, LA and Roy Bird and wife Parrish of Orange, TX; Brother, Herman Senn, JR of Farmerville, LA; Grandchildren, Dustin Bird, Dylan Bird, Marlee Bird and Morgan and husband Brian Latiolas; Great grandchildren, Rafi, Luci and Selleck Latiolas; Several nieces and sister in law Mattie Gray. Mrs. Peggy was a precious lady that loved everyone that she came in contact with. She loved working in her yard and visiting with everyone that came by. She was a seamstress and all of her customers were great friends and like family to her.

Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 PM Tuesday, August 28, 2018 at Owens Memorial Chapel in Ruston with Dr. Michael Hawley and Rev. Paul Watts officiating. Visitation will also be Tuesday from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM service time at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery in Ruston.

The family would like to give special thanks to her church family at Emmanuel Baptist Church and all of her friends who supported her during her illness. A very "special" thanks to Jean Kennedy, without whose support we couldn't have made it. Special thanks to Paul with Home Health who always went above and beyond and Hospice caregivers Trish and Paula.

Pallbearers will be Dustin Bird, Dylan Bird, Rogan Bird,  Roy Bird, Sammy Staples and Donnie Kimbell.
