Pauline "Polly" Elizabeth Tabor was born July 16, 1936 in Ruston, Louisiana to Floyd English and Annie Belle McGuire Phillips both from Simsboro,  and passed away on Thursday, March 20, 2025 at her home in Jefferson, Texas. She was 88 years old.

Her teaching career took her from Shreveport, Louisiana to Mannheim, Germany and finally to east Texas for a total of 45 years.

Polly is preceded in death by her parents; loving husband, Loyd Lavette Tabor; sisters, Louise Moshinskie, Floy Belle Deloney, and Arneta Carnahan; brother-in-law, Jerry Best; and nephew, Phil Deloney.

Those left to cherish her memory are her loving brother-in-law, John Best and his wife, Sue; sister-in-law, Renee Best; nieces, Shery Deloney, Laura Smith, and Cheryl Shave; nephews, Jim and Charles Moshinskie, John, Heith, Casey, and Trenton Best; as well as numerous extended family and friends.

At her request, there will be no services. Her ashes will be taken to Simsboro City Cemetery in Simsboro, Louisiana and placed beside her husband, Lavette. Her nephew, Dr. Jim Moshinskie of Waco, Tx., will deliver a eulogy. Owens Funeral Home of Ruston is handling arrangements.
