Funeral services for Nelda Raye Brazzel Youngblood, age 82 of Dubach, LA will be held 2:00 P.M., Monday, August 18, 2025 at Living Water Full Gospel Church with Rev. Scott Jennings and Rev. Dewayne Ramsey officiating. Burial will follow in Corinth Cemetery under the direction of Owens Memorial Chapel Funeral Home of Ruston, LA.

Nelda was born January 28, 1943 at home in the Corinth community to Malvin and Ophelia Stepheson Brazzel and passed away at her home, August 14, 2025. She enjoyed deer hunting, cooking Sunday dinner for her family, and making pies for family and friends. Nelda loved music and spent countless hours singing with her husband, Billy Joe, and playing her bass guitar at family reunions, charity benefits, and at-home jam sessions.

Nelda enjoyed serving her Lord. She was a member of Corinth Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School and played the piano. Oh, how she loved her little county church. Nelda went on mission trips to New Mexico where she came to love the Navajo Nation, but there was no place like home. She loved being in Corinth surrounded by her family, whom she loved so dearly.

Nelda was preceded in death by her parents; sisters: Joyce Eley and Jane Inman; and brother, Alvin Brazzel. She is survived by her husband, Billy Joe Youngblood; daughters: Cindy and husband Donnie Horton of Dubach, LA, Teresa and husband Keith Brazzel of Ruston, LA, and Sandra and husband Scott Jennings of Dubach, LA; seven grandchildren: Kimberly Brazzel, Dustin Brazzel, Brandon Brazzel, Magon Brazzel, Adam Brazzel, Jared Jennings, and Jordan Morrow; 15 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews, and a host of other family and friends.

Serving as pallbearers will be Brandon Brazzel, Adam Brazzel, Adam Pilgreen, Dustin Brazzel, Jared Jennings, Perry Tanner, and Jerry Eley.
