Graveside services for Nancy Ruth Hammons Gay, age 79 of Ruston, LA, will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday, May 17, 2021 at Fellowship Cemetery in Dubach, LA, with Rev. Jeff Smart officiating. Services are under the direction of Owens Memorial Chapel Funeral Home.

Nancy was born on May 28, 1941 in Dubach, LA, to parents Daniel Luther Hammons and Mary Maxine Napper Hammons. She passed away on May 14, 2021 in Ruston, LA. Nancy enjoyed her home, loved watching the birds and was an avid reader. Nancy enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She worked for many businesses over the years on Park Avenue in Ruston. She was a member at Cook Baptist Church and taught many children in classes there.

Nancy is survived by her daughter, Robin and husband Danny Boyles of Nashville, TN; sons: Randy Gay and wife Patty of Ruston, LA, and Chris Gay and wife Gina of Ruston, LA; seven grandchildren: Betty Lou Boyles of Nashville, TN, Will Gay and wife Melany, Madison Gay, Lane Gay, Morgan Gay, Sam Owen and Peter Owen, all of Ruston, LA; two great-grandchildren: Elizabeth Gay and Abigail Gay of Ruston, LA; brothers: Luther Hammons of Clay, LA, and Jimmy Hammons and wife Linda Kay of Dubach, LA; and sister, Evelyn and husband Charles Taylor of Dubach, LA.

Nancy is preceded in death by her husband, Marvin Gay, and one sister Lois Franklin.
