Funeral services for Mona Renee Duke, age 52 of Dubach, LA will be held at 2:00 PM, Friday, March 11, 2022 at Rock Corner Baptist Church with Bro. Larry Bullock officiating.  Burial will follow in the Rock Corner Cemetery under the direction of Owens Memorial Chapel Funeral Home of Ruston, LA.

Mona was born January 26, 1970 in Ruston, LA and passed away March 5, 2022 at Tulane Medical Center in New Orleans, LA.  She was a graduate of Ruston High School, where she met Keith at the age of sixteen, who she went on to marry on September 21, 1991.  Mona and Keith went on to share their life together for 30 years.  She enjoyed riding with Keith in the truck watching sunsets and taking pictures of the moon.  Mona worked at the old Wal-Mart before moving to the Builder's Supply where she stayed for 18 years.  After that she worked at Tractor Supply.  We thank God for the privilege of having Mona in our lives.  From teaching Sunday School and Vacation Bible School and being a Prayer Warrior in the Young Women's Group at Rock Corner to the fierce love for her family.  She was a sweet and genuine person and will be missed tremendously, but she has won her race and is living in the victory and presence of the Lord.  Mona was preceded in death by her father, Monard Ferguson and her mother, Billie Jean Otwell.

Mona is survived by her husband, Keith Duke of Dubach; step-father, Max Otwell of Ruston; brothers:  Matt Ferguson (Nora) of Choudrant and Jeff Ferguson (Cindy) of Ruston and sister, Becky Holland (George) of Dubach.  She loved children, but none greater than her nephews: Kane Ferguson (Sarah) and their children, Amelia and Connor and Bradley Caraway (Haley) and their daughter, Harper; and nieces:  Amanda Story and children, Kaylie, Kaleb and Kaden Bradshaw and Kaitlin Duke and daughter, Kaisley Mathis.  She also had several cousins that she loved dearly.

Serving as pallbearers will be Kane Ferguson, Bradley Caraway, Jeff Ferguson, Clint Allen, Jim Atkins and Bryan Atkins.  Honorary pallbearers are Darrell Caraway, Tommy Duke, Clayton Allen, Zach Best and Garrett Best.

Visitation will be from 12:00 Noon until service time Friday at the church.  The family would like to thank the medical staff who participated in Mona's care, Dr. Johnny Delashaw and Dr. Kareem Elzamly along with the nursing staff of the Tulane Neuro ICU and Dr. Dennis Sullivan and the ER staff of Northern Louisiana Medical Center.  In lieu of flowers, please make a memorial gift to St. Jude's or the charity of your choice.  To leave an online memorial message for the family, please visit www.owensmemorialfuneralhome.com .
