Funeral services for Mr. Michael Joseph "Joe" McDaniel, age 59 of Simsboro, will be held at 10:00 AM, Saturday, March 2, 2019 at Owens Memorial Chapel Funeral Home with Brother James Williams officiating. Interment will follow in Walnut Creek Cemetery in Simsboro, LA under the direction of Owens Memorial Chapel Funeral Home of Ruston.

Joe was born January 2, 1960 to father Chester Lee McDaniel, Sr. and mother, Alline Shankle McDaniel in Pineville, LA and died Sunday, February 24, 2019 in Ruston.  Joe was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers and three sisters.

In his spare time, Joe enjoyed fishing, gardening and watching the History Channel. He had a passion for building, especially framing houses. He enjoyed singing and loved talking to anybody who would listen.

Mr. McDaniel is survived by his wife of 35 years, Shirley McDaniel of Simsboro, two sons: Joseph Lee McDaniel of Ruston and Larry Caldwell, Jr and wife Kay of Ruston; three grandchildren: Ashley, Haley and Nicolas; five great-grandchildren: Remi, Layla, Lathen, Mason and Darby; and sister-in-law, Romain McDaniel of Vilonia, Arkansas.

Visitation will be held from 5:00-7:00 PM, Friday, March 1, 2019 at Owens Memorial Chapel Funeral Home.
