Mike started working for the United States Department of Agriculture in 1997 as a Food Safety Inspector. For the next 24 years he worked all across the country keeping American people's tables safe; with the last 16 years in Orange County California. Mike won several awards from the USDA. He was highly respected by his co-workers as well as the personnel of the plants he inspected; which is extraordinarily uncommon for any inspector. He was also an International Distributor for Enagic.

Mike is survived by his wife of 20 years Sarah from Dresden, TN; three daughters: Victoria and husband Justin Axton of Ruston, LA, Ann Boartfield of Bossier City, LA and Katie and husband Josiah Viklund of Charleston, SC; one son: Ricky Oglesby and wife Chelsea of Prosper, TX; three grandsons:  Lincoln Axton, Jacob Viklund and Judah Viklund.  He is also survived by his mother:  Betty Barham; his father:  Clyde Barham and one brother:  Wayman Barham and wife Cindy, all of Ruston.
