Memorial service for Mary Smith, age 79, will be held 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM, Saturday, March 7, 2020 at the Veterans of Foreign Wars Hall in Jonesboro, Louisiana.
So.....now the tears roll harder and faster.....😢.
For all who know us, we are letting you all know that our mother has finally went to be with our daddy and her family. She was 79 years old at the time of her passing February 28, 2020 at 11:50 a.m. She would have been 80 in May. Her wishes were to have friends and family gather and have a toast in her memory! Remember all...love one another while you still can, and as I've always said, "Never give away your memories, because one day, that is all you will have left"! For you all out there who see this that do not know me and my family, we all believe that love is the key! Please say a prayer for my sister Janet Smith-Deal, and husband Harry Deal from Chatham, Louisiana who was there with her through the years and has stood by her side through thick and thin and took care of her till her last breath, and myself, David W. Smith (Wayne).....please pray for my wife, Stephanie Smith and our children, her grand kids...(named by age): James Coody, Jason Clinton, Akia Smith, (granddaughter), Jordan Rodney, Lacey Monk, and Joseph A Smith (grandson), and also to many friends whom she made throughout her lifetime, there were many!
She was 1 of 8 children and is survived by one sister, Barbara Ann Higgins and husband Joe Higgins from Arkansas, and many nieces and nephews and their children and grandchildren. She was also a great grandmother, 8x's through my marriage!
She will be missed! We all love you Mary S. Smith (Susie), and we will miss the tears and laughter we have all shared over the years with you! Fly high and proud! We will see you on the other side! Please watch over us all now as we continue to live and wait our turn to see you again! We would like to especially send thanks to all of the staff of Northern Louisiana Medical Center-Ruston, Louisiana, including Cynthia Gant, and also to all of her doctors and nurses that tended to her over the past few years (different facilities)...we are all forever grateful for you all! Thank you to Owens Funeral Home-Ruston, Louisiana for your services!
