Funeral services for Marthalene Ross, age 88 of Ruston will be held at 2:00 P.M., Friday, February 12, 2021 at Owens Memorial Chapel with Pastor Perry Culver officiating. Interment will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery under the direction of Owens Memorial Chapel Funeral Home of Ruston, LA.

Marthalene was born on July 2, 1932 in Sioux City, Iowa and passed away on February 5, 2021 in Ruston. She was a homemaker until her children all entered school and then she became a cook at Sgt. Bluff High School. Marthalene was also an invoice clerk for Ebasco Construction for many years. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary Post 662 in Sgt. Bluff, Iowa. Marthalene was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Ruston, LA.

Marthalene was preceded in death by her husband: Norman Ross; parents: Ralph Bauer and wife Voila; brother-in-law: Marvin Ross.

Marthalene is survived by two sons: Norman Kent Ross of Aurora, CO, Michael Leroy Ross of Ruston, LA; daughter: Linda and husband Woody Whittington of Ruston, LA; four grandchildren: Patti and husband Wayne Sand, Tiffany Zarah Whittington, Jachin and wife Tiffani Whittington, Lazarus Whittington; five great grandchildren: Whitnee, Alyssa, Zoe, Katelynn and Jaedon; brother-in-law: LaVerne Ross of Spencer, Iowa.

Serving as pallbearers will be Jachin Whittington, Lazarus Whittington, Steven Stewart and Jordan Whittington.
