Funeral services for Mrs. Martha Britt, age 96 of Dubach, LA  are scheduled for 10:00 AM, Wednesday, May 25, 2022 at Owens Memorial Chapel in Ruston.  Burial will follow in Unionville Cemetery in Dubach, LA under the direction of Owens Memorial Chapel Funeral Home in Ruston.

Martha was born on February 3, 1926 in Harrisburg, LA passed away May 18, 2022 in Farmerville, LA. She was raised alongside nine brothers and five sisters. She would often accompany her sister Maxine to work on trains during World War II.  Martha then went on to meet and marry her husband John J. Bevz in Oswego, New York. She was a meat wrapper there in New York at the A & P Grocery Store before moving to the store bakery.  Upon John J Bevz passing in 1992 she relocated back to Dubach, LA where she would go on to meet and eventually marry Billy Britt. Martha was an excellent fisherman, cook, and member of Dubach First Baptist Church, where she attended regularly.  She was also an avid reader and always concerned about her reputation and her appearance.  She and Billy were happily married up until his passing on October 25, 2020. She was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and Gladys Delaney.

Martha is survived by her two sons:  Michael Bevz and wife Mary Jo of Las Cruces, NM and Ron Bevz of Corum, MT and five grandchildren:  Roger  Bevz , Anessa Marling, John Bevz, Jaccob Bevz, and Delaney Bevz. She also had three great grandchildren:  Jared Marling, Mckenna Marling, and Alice Millorn Bevz.

Serving as pallbearers will be Delaney Bevz, Jaccob Bevz, John Ed Colvin, Danny Dendy, Jerry Owen, and Jeff Fritz.

Visitation will be held from 9:00 AM Wednesday until time of service.
