Marjorie Nations Benefield, 96, of Ruston, Louisiana, passed away Thursday, April 18, 2019. Visitation will be held from 1:00 PM until 3:00 PM, Saturday, April 20, 2019 at Owens Memorial Chapel in Ruston. Graveside services will be at 1:00 pm at Magee City Cemetery in Magee, Mississippi on Monday, April 22, 2019 under direction of Owens Memorial Chapel Funeral Home of Ruston, Louisiana.
Mrs. Benefield was born on October 2, 1922, in Magnolia, Arkansas, to Ed Nations and Lillie Bailey Nations. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Ruston, Louisiana.
She is survived by her son Mike Benefield and wife, Mary, of Dubach, Louisiana and her daughter Kathy Williams and husband David, of Ruston, Louisiana. Her grandchildren are Jill Benefield of Dubach, Louisiana, Marlee Benefield of Keller, Texas, Ben Williams (Emily) of Ruston, Louisiana, and Lanie Gregory (Wesley) of Ruston, Louisiana. She has five great-grandchildren: Lily and Lesley Gregory, Addison and Britton Williams, and Caleb Benefield. Her sister is Patsy Purtle of Prescott, Arkansas and her brothers are Billy Nations of Texarkana, Arkansas, and Jimmy Nations of Lewisville, Arkansas, and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
Margie was preceded in death by her husband Clinton Royce Benefield, her parents Ed and Lillie Bailey Nations, her bothers Jerry Nations, Joe Nations, and Dewayne Nations and her sisters Lanoma Gibson and Lucine Morris.
Marjorie (Gee-Gee) was a recent resident at Alpine Nursing Home in Ruston, Louisiana. She loved family and friends and to share her gift of hospitality, even though several years of declining health.
It is the wish of her family that memory of her be shared by giving to the Building Fund at First Baptist Church of Ruston, Louisiana.
