Private graveside services for Marilyn Sue Franklin, age 74 of Dubach, LA, were held at 3:00 PM, Tuesday, March 11, 2025 at Mineral Springs Cemetery in Dubach, LA under direction of Owens Memorial Chapel Funeral Home of Ruston, LA.

Marilyn was born November 4, 1950 in Bernice, LA to Earnest Moses Hunt and Dorothy Ione Murry, and she gained her wings on Saturday, March 8, 2025 in Ruston, LA, at her daughter's home. Marilyn received her Cosmetology License from Pat Goins Beauty School in 1968. She was an instructor at the school for many years, where her students loved her, and she loved each of them as well. Marilyn had a contagious smile and made friends everywhere she went. She loved fishing, taking her nieces and nephews with her so she could show them how it was done.

Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Pee Wee Franklin; brother, Billy Wayne Hunt; and sister, LaVerne Foster.

Left with her memories are her daughter, Tonya Franklin of Ruston, LA; sisters, Earnestine Hunt of Dubach, LA; Ruth Barfield of Ruston, LA; brother, Mike Hunt; special nieces, Sheri Ladner (Ricky Peterson), and Kym Hunt (Samantha and Shelbie Hunt); great-niece, Bella Picou; and a host of other family and friends.

Marilyn will be missed beyond words, by all that knew her, including her animals, Lucy and Possum, and all the feral cats she took in and cared for.
