Memorial services for Mrs. Margie Cooper, age 81, of Ruston, LA will be held at 3:00 PM, Wednesday, September 18, 2019 at Calvary Baptist Church in Vienna, LA with Mr. Wayne Patterson and Mr. Ronnie Sanders officiating. Brother Todd Free will be performing the music. Visitation will be from 12:00 Noon until service time Wednesday at Calvary Baptist Church.
Margie was born on October 11, 1937, to the union of Henry and Jessie Manning in Arkansas. She died Monday, September 16, 2019, at her home in Ruston, LA. Margie is survived by two sons: Tommy Ford (Priscilla), and Tim Cooper (Jessica); granddaughter, Madison Ford; sisters: Dollie Stratton, Doris Osbon, and Rosalee Gilligan; brothers: Franklin Manning and Joe Manning; nieces, nephews, and numerous friends. Margie is preceded in death by her parents; sister, Hazel Napper and brothers, Calvin Manning and Bill Manning.
Margie was always willing to do for others and taking care of things that needed to be done, without acknowledgment. She loved spending time with her family, especially her granddaughter, Madison, cooking, cleaning, playing, gardening, shopping, sewing, arts-n-crafts, tea parties, horses, dogs, all animals, and anything else Madison wanted to do. She was especially proud of Madison's rodeo career thus far and enjoyed travelling with her to rodeos and horse events.
Margie worked numerous years in finance and sales. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church after accepting Christ as Savior at an early age.
Sincere gratitude to Northern LA Medical Center, Dr. Ensminger and Staff, Dr. Osafo and staff, Green Clinic Chemo staff, Trucare Home Health, Premier Hospice (Stephanie, Jennifer, Kim, and Muffin) and all the many others that went beyond to help during Margie's illness.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude, Life Choice, or a charity of the donor's choosing.
