Obituary

Funeral services for Fanny "Mae" Elliott, age 81 of Ruston will be held at New Hope Church with Rev. Dana Thrash officiating. Internment will follow in New Hope Cemetery at Gaars Mill near Dodson under the direction of Owens Memorial Chapel Funeral Home of Ruston, LA.

Mae was born on November 8, 1938 in Winnsboro and went to be with her Lord on November 1, 2020 in Ruston after a short illness. She was a member of Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church. She gave her life to Jesus at the young age of twelve years old. Mae enjoyed camping with the Caney Lake Sam's RV club for many years. She was a member of the Blue Star Mothers of LA and wanted to do everything she could for her sons and daughters in the military. Mae retired from La Tech where she helped numerous students make the adjustment from being away from home for the very first time. All the students knew that if they were ever in trouble that Mrs. Mae would be there to help them.

Mae is preceded in death by parents: Agar Jefferson Browning and wife Lucinda; brother: H.J. Browning; and four sisters: Myrtis Spruill, Jessie Lee Spruill, Martha Mae Hendry and Theo Hodges.

Mae is survived by her loving husband of 65 years: Keith Elliott; son: Keith "Randy" Elliott and wife Donna of Jacksonville, FL; daughter: Linda and husband Scott Richardson of Choudrant, LA; grandsons: Clint Richardson and wife Amanda of Ruston, LA, Zachry Richardson of Little Rock, LA; granddaughter: Kayla Nicole Elliott of Jacksonville, FL; step granddaughter: Vanessa Parker of Jacksonville, FL; great grandsons: William Kelly Richardson and Harlan Wayne Richardson. As well as numerous nieces, nephews and a host of friends. She is also survived by her special friend, Marilyn Burnham.

Serving as pallbearers will be Brion Elliott, Clint Richardson, Slade Richard, Randy Elliott and Scott Richardson.

Honorary pallbearers will be Nolan Coleman, Emery Ambrose, Jim Colvin, Aron Kirbow, Jim Richardson, Les Parker, W.C. Russell and Larry Branch.

In lieu of flowers please make donations to Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church in Ruston, LA.
