Lorelle Fuller
Barnett
Aug 3, 1929 — Nov 22, 2020
Hico
Lorelle Fuller Barnett was born August 3, 1929 in Bernice, LA and went to be with her Lord and the love of her life on November 22, 2020 at their family home in Hico surrounded by her family at the age of 91. Mother never let Daddy take a trip without her in 74 years, and heaven was no exception.
She attended Bernice High School and was a waitress at the Chat-n-Chew in Bernice where she met Doug. They were soon married and raised 5 children in Hico. She was a lifelong member of Hico Baptist Church serving as church secretary, Sunday school teacher and choir member. She was a buyer for Lewis & Co. for 20 years but was most known for her exceptional home-making, cooking and sewing. She loved to travel, collect antiques, but most of all play with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held at Hico Baptist Church at 9:00 AM, Monday, November 23, 2020 followed by graveside services at Henry Cemetery at 11:00 AM, with Bro Don Cardin and Bro Jeff Hurst officiating under the direction of Owens Memorial Chapel Funeral Home of Ruston, LA.
She is preceded in death by her husband Doug Barnett, her parents John and Fern Fuller, her sister Shirley Hattaway Cobb, her brother-in-laws Larry Hurst, Jelly (Moose) Kelley, and Doyle Cobb, and son-in-laws Jimmy Houck and Ray Cooper. She is survived by her sisters Sue Kelley and Billie Hurst of Bernice and Ruthie Gray (John) of Mobile, AL, daughters Sandra Cooper of Bernice, Dorothy Brown (Charles) of Farmerville, Kaye Houck of Hico, a son Sonny Barnett (Terry) of Hico, and daughter Bonnie Taylor (Louis) of Texarkana, Tx. Grandchildren Darren Cooper (Marcie) of Bernice, Doug Cooper (Tiffany) of Bernice, Angela Strozier (Rusty) of Ruston, Marcy Kavanaugh (Kenny) of Farmerville, Lisa Lowery (Terry) of Hico, David Houck (Tracey) of Quantico, Virginia, William Barnett (Crystal) of Ruston, Daniel Houck of Hico, Christina Beebe (Aaron) of Montgomery, Alabama, and Chris Taylor (Stephanie) of Columbia, South Carolina, 14 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews, a host of other family members, and many, many friends.
The greatest generation does have the greatest love story: To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord. Mother passed away the day after Daddy.
The family would like to express our deepest gratitude to the all the amazing ladies who have provided in-home care for mother including but not limited to Martha, Kim, Sydney, Deja, Irene, and Katherine and also Dr. Benson Grigsby and his staff.
In lieu of flowers, the family would like to request donations to Hico Baptist Church, Henry Cemetery Fund, or charity of your choice.
