Funeral services for Mrs. Linda McKenzie Collins, age 73 of Simsboro, LA will be held at 2:00 PM, Monday, October 3, 2022 at Owens Memorial Chapel in Ruston, LA with Vernon McMillon, Hart Swain and Scott Collins officiating.  Burial will follow in the Simsboro City Cemetery in Simsboro, LA under the direction of Owens Memorial Chapel Funeral Home of Ruston, LA.

Mrs. Collins was born October 9, 1948 in Haynesville, LA to Albert Earl and Nelda Smith McKenzie and she passed away in Arcadia, LA September 30, 2022 after a lengthy illness. Linda was a member of the Ruston Church of Christ. She was a hair stylist for a short period of time, then enjoyed staying home raising her family. In her spare time, she enjoyed gardening, drinking coffee on the front porch and watching birds.  She also  made the best turnip greens and hot-water cornbread.  Linda loved to visit with and watch her grandchildren play.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Grady "Buddy" Collins; her parents; her brother, David McKenzie; her aunt, Mary Dinsmore and husband, Ralph; her aunt, Cheryl Hixson and husband, Jack; her father and mother-in-law, Johnnie and Lena Collins; her sister-in-law, Devonne LeBlanc; her brothers-in-law: Preston Collins and Johnnie Collins; and her beloved dog, Sophie.

Linda is survived by two daughters; Libby Collins Harvey and husband, Kenny and Wendy Lynne Collins, all of Simsboro; six grandchildren: Kimberly Jean Collins, Kirstie Gandy and husband, Josh, Chelsea Lynne Swain, Cole Harvey and fiancé, Rachael, Kristin Danielle Swain, and Hart "T-Boy" Swain; fifteen great-grandchildren; four sisters-in-law: Karen McKenzie-Mott of Alexandria, Jeanette Collins of Welsh, Brenda Atkins and husband, Carl of Clay and Sandra McMillon and husband, Vernon of Hebert; one brother-in-law, William "Butch" Collins and wife, Rhonda of Quitman and numerous nieces and nephews she loved dearly.

Serving as pallbearers will be Hart Swain, Kenny Harvey, Cole Harvey, Josh Gandy, Randy Collins, and Ronnie Collins.

Visitation will be from 1:00 PM until service time Monday at Owens Memorial Chapel Funeral Home.
