Graveside services for Leota Lyles, age 96 of Ruston, will be held at 10:00 AM, Monday, August 27, 2018 at Greenwood Cemetery in Ruston with Rev. Larry Emory officiating under the direction of Owens Memorial Chapel Funeral Home of Ruston.

Leota was born December 8, 1921 in Exeter, MO to the union of Joe and Amanda Jones and died August 23, 2018 in Ruston, LA where she spent the last 55 years even though her husband's Army career enabled her to live in other locations.  She worked as a salesperson at Bealls for 20 years.  Leota had many hobbies which included baking, gardening, growing roses, church activites including flower arranging, and spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Leota is preceded in death by her parents; husband of 53 years, David Lyles; son, Bruce David Lyles and nine siblings.

Leota is survived by her sister: Carolyn Charles of Exeter, MO; son: Bob Lyles of Palm Springs, CA; daughter: Babs and husband Cecil Barham of Ruston, LA; grandchildren: Brent Lyles and wife Ginny of Coeur d' Alene, ID, Brandon Lyles and wife Amy of Williamsburg, VA, Heather and husband Michael Russell of Franklin, TN, Matt Barham and wife Amanda of Ruston, LA, Brooke and husband Brad Martin of Ruston, LA, and Adam Barham and wife Natalie of Hattiesburg, MS; great grandchildren: Tara Lyles, Preston Russell, Carlisle Russell, Ella Grace Barham, Sawyer Barham, Abby Martin, Nolan Martin, Jase Martin, Sutton Kate Barham, Anna Lyles Barham, and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.

The family would like to give heartfelt thanks to four special angels: Doris Roberson, Barbara Gipson, Carla White, and Della Huey and hospice workers: Melissa Mattox, Sharonda Shelton, and Veronica Edwards.

Serving as pallbearers are: Matt Barham, Adam Barham, Brad Martin, Michael Russell, Brent Lyles, and Brandon Lyles.
