Funeral services for Leon Currington, age 77 of Simsboro, LA, will be held at 2:00 PM, Friday, April 8, 2022 at Owens Memorial Chapel with Rev Leroy Skipper officiating.  Burial will follow in the Simsboro City Cemetery under direction of Owens Memorial Chapel Funeral Home of Ruston, LA.

Leon retired from Baker Hughes as a truck driver.  He loved duck hunting, fishing, deer hunting and old time cars and trucks.  He especially loved spending time with his kids, grandkids and great-grandkids outdoors and he enjoyed watching cartoons with his grandkids. Leon was preceded in death by his parents, Warren G and Cecile Pippins Currington and sisters: Viola Jones, Dorothy Hudnall and infant sister, Geraldine Currington and grandchild, Presley Boyd.

Leon is survived by his wife, Vickey Currington; son, Nickie Currington and wife, Deane; daughter, Brandy and husband, Steve Lowery;  sons: Robin Boyd and Chris Boyd and wife, Brandy; daughter, Lynnette Boyd; grandchildren: Nickelous Currington and fiancé Jordan, McKenzie Farrar, Case Farrar, Allison Lowery, Anna Lowery, Elizabeth Parker, Destiny Johnston, Glynn Kesterson, Madalyn Boyd, Caleb Allen and fiance, Rachel Rice; and Isabelle Mitchell; great-grandchildren:  Paislee Ann Currington, Ainslee Grace Currington, Naomi Currington, Aubrie Allen and Vivien Allen; and sisters:  Lucy Moses, Mary Nell Albritton, Alice Ruth Carriere and Lillie Lutrick and numerous nieces and nephews and a host of friends.

Serving as pallbearers will be Nickelous Currington, Case Farrar, Clint Farrar, Nickie Currington, Jeffrey Carriere and Tommy Lutrick.
