Graveside services for Kathy Frazier Abel, age 68 of Choudrant, LA will be held at 10:00 AM, Thursday, January 13, 2022 at Cook Cemetery in Ruston, LA. with Rev. Dwayne Monk officiating.  Services are under the direction of Owens Memorial Chapel Funeral Home in Ruston.

Kathy Frazier Abel, daughter of Clyde Kelly Frazier and Clara Lou Harvey Frazier, was born February 24, 1953 and passed away peacefully Friday, January 7, 2022.  She was a member of New Hope Baptist Church in Choudrant and a lifelong resident of Lincoln Parish. Kathy devoted much of her life caring for her family and the community.  She retired from Northern Louisiana Medical Center after thirty-seven years of service.  Kathy was a very active member at New Hope Baptist Church and enjoyed helping with vacation bible school.  She loved being outside and caring for her plants, traveling, reading and collecting cookbooks.

Kathy is preceded in death by her husband, Douglas Abel; her mother, Clara Frazier; her father, Clyde Frazier and brother, Ronnie Bell.  She is survived by her daughters: Catherine Abel of New Orleans, LA and Rachel and husband, Andrew Sherman of Shreveport, LA and sister, Becky Buckland.
