Julia Katherine King, 41, formerly of Unionville, LA and Las Vegas, NV, passed away Friday, December 7, 2018.

Funeral services for Julia will be held at 2:00 PM, Thursday, December 13, 2018 at Owens Memorial Chapel in Ruston with Rev. Stephanie Green officiating.  Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery in Ruston. Visitation will precede the service from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Owens Memorial Chapel Funeral Home. The family invites all of Julia's friends to come and celebrate her life with them.

Julia was born to Stanley and Solange King on September 16, 1977 in El Tigrito, Venezuela. Julia graduated from Cedar Creek High School in 1995 and received a Bachelor of Arts in Fashion Merchandising from Louisiana Tech University in 1999. Julia was an interior decorator until she was diagnosed with scleroderma in 2014. Julia enjoyed traveling, visiting the Southwest, decorating, dining at fine restaurants, watching reality television, and playing with her nephews.

Julia is survived by her parents, Stanley and Solange King, of Dubach; sister, Patricia, and husband, Peter Brokish, and their two children, Aiden and Ian, of Frisco, TX; aunt, Madeline King Cooper, of Unionville, LA; her devoted friends, Leann and Andrew Vaughan of Las Vegas, NV and Valerie Neal Asbell of Madison, MS; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests a donation be made in Julia King's name to the Scleroderma Research Foundation (srfcure.org).
