Funeral services for Mrs. Joyce Irene Foster, 79, of Ruston will be at 2:00 PM, Wednesday, August 15, 2018 at Douglas United Methodist Church near Choudrant with Rev. Jeremy Jones officiating.  Burial will follow in Epps Cemetery in Epps under the direction of Owens Memorial Chapel Funeral Home of Ruston.

Mrs. Foster graduated from Northeast Louisiana College in 1960 with a Master's degree in Education and began teaching at Epps High School in Epps; from there to Collinston High School, from there to Tallulah Academy in Tallulah, and from there to Sam Crow Academy in Oak Grove and retired from Monticello High School in East Carroll Parish in 1994.  She enjoyed spending time with her family, traveling, watching baseball and basketball, doing crafts with her hands and crocheting baby blankets and she loved her hummingbirds.  Joyce is preceded in death by her husband of 31 years, Alvis Duane Foster, her parents, C.E. and Hazel Holley and a sister, Mary Lou Dixon.

Mrs. Foster is survived by son, Jason Foster of Columbia, LA; daughter, Camille and husband Jeff Mize of Ruston; grandchildren, Cameron Mize of Ruston and Megan Mize of Ft. Worth.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM, Tuesday, August 14, 2018 at Douglas United Methodist Church.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Douglas United Methodist Church Building Fund.
