Funeral services for Joy Murphy, age 81 of Texarkana will be held at 2:00 P.M., Monday, February 8, 2021 at Owens Memorial Chapel Funeral Home with Rev. Lynn Hawkins officiating. Interment will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery in Ruston under the direction of Owens Memorial Chapel Funeral Home of Ruston, LA.

Joy was born on July 9, 1939 in Groesbeck, TX and passed away on February 5, 2021 in Texarkana, TX. She enjoyed playing games such as Bingo, Word Find, cards and Scrabble. During some of Joy's free time she liked to listen to music and work in her garden. Joy loved traveling with Lynn and they were known as the "cruise girls". Joy worked as a nurse for over 40 years.

Joy was preceded in death by parents: U.D. Ince and wife Mozelle; brother: Glen Ince; sister: Maxine Boone.

Joy is survived by her husband: Joseph Murphy of Deridder, LA; daughter: Lynn and husband Don Jackson; three grandchildren: Steven Maddox and wife Shannon of Little Rock, AR, Laura and husband Adam Smith of Dallas, TX, Brandy and husband Jason Weems of Hope Mills, NC; three great grandchildren: Logan, Mason and Lyndsey; two sisters: Sue and Mary Lou; step children: Lora and husband John Emerson of Baldwin, MS, David Murphy and wife Valerie of Deridder, LA, Tony Murphy and wife Amy of Hutchinson, MN.
