Graveside services for Mr. John A. "Buddy" Lowery, age 87 of Ruston, are scheduled for 10:00 AM, Thursday, September 8, 2022 at Pleasant Hill Cemetery near Ruston with Reverend Greg Morrow officiating.  Services are under the direction of Owens Memorial Chapel Funeral Home of Ruston.

Buddy was born on May 3, 1935 to the union of John C. and Cecil Ruby Gresham Lowery in Bernice, LA and died peacefully at his home on September 6, 2022 in Ruston with his family by his side.  He was a retired truck driver for Diamond Industries and also Spartan Manufacturing in Bernice.  Buddy enjoyed hunting and fishing as well as gardening, going camping and attending church.  He was a longtime and faithful member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church.  Buddy was a "family man" and loved spending time with them.  He is preceded in death by his parents, his great grandson Ethan Lowery, his sister Ellen Neimeyer and his son-in-law Tom Davis.

Buddy is survived by his wife of 65 years, Joyce Lowery of Ruston; two daughters: Penny Lowery-Craig and husband Charles and Sandra Lowery Davis; his son Robert Lowery and wife Joanne, all of Ruston; seven grandchildren: Robert Lowery, Scott Love, Joseph Davis, Brad Love and wife Kellie, Heather and husband Clint Crawford, Sarah Love Campbell, and Jessica and husband Jason Potts; eleven great grandchildren; sister Jackie and husband Bobby Nelson of Lake Charles, LA and numerous other family members and friends.

Serving as pallbearers will be:  Robert Lowery, Joseph Davis, Scott Love, Brad Love, Little Robert Lowery, Junior Reed and Jason Potts.
