Graveside services for John Lee Dring, age 83 of Ruston, LA will be held at 2:00 PM, Wednesday, December 22, 2021 at Antioch Cemetery in Simsboro. Burial will follow in the Antioch Cemetery under the direction of Owens Memorial Chapel Funeral Home of Ruston, LA.

John passed away Friday, December 17, 2021 following a lengthy illness.  He was born to Arvel (Pat) Frank Dring and Lora (Puddin) Skinner Dring of Simsboro on September 19, 1938.  He graduated from Simsboro High School in 1956.  Following graduation, he enlisted in the Air Force and retired twenty years later as a Staff Sergeant.  He then began his 2 ^nd career as a truck driver for nearly thirty years upon retirement.  John Lee loved Nascar, eating out with his sister Patsy, and drinking a good cup of coffee.  He is preceded in death by his parents, Pat and Lora Dring; his son, John Lee Dring, Jr.; and a nephew, Ricky Canady.

John is survived by his son, Jason Dring of Fredericksburg, VA; his daughter, Idelle Dring Fode of Marysville, WA; his four grandchildren:  Josh Dring, David Malloy, Ben Malloy and Leslie Malloy; his eight great-grandchildren: Kyrsten Malloy, Kalliste Malloy, Kollin Malloy, Karisma Malloy, Keira Malloy, Connor Triplett, Logan Triplett and Emma Malloy; his sister, Patsy Dring Compton of Ruston, LA; his nephew Scott Canady and wife, Chanda of Jonesboro, LA; his niece, Cindy East and husband Chuck of Monroe, LA; his niece Patti Smith and husband, Lorman of Mansfield, TX and their families.

Visitation will be from 12:00 – 1:00 PM Wednesday, December 22, 2021 at Owens Memorial Chapel Funeral Home in Ruston, LA.  In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the American Cancer Society, P.O.
