Funeral services for JoAnn Zaricor , age 81, of  Ruston, LA will be held at 10:00 AM, Saturday, August, 31, 2019 at Owens Memorial Chapel with Rev. Todd Free officiating.  Burial will follow in Kilpatrick's Memorial Gardens in Ruston, LA under the direction of Owens Memorial Chapel Funeral Home of Ruston.

JoAnn Zaricor (née Wettig) peacefully passed surrounded by her children on Monday, August 26, 2019 at 3:07 a.m.  She loved cross-stitch, word puzzles, scrabble competitions, reading mystery novels, but in her own words, "certainly not cleaning house." Spring was her favorite season because she loved flowers, especially red roses. She treasured holidays, especially Christmas, and any time she could spend with her family. Celebrating birthdays and decorating cakes also brought JoAnn joy.   She was a longtime resident of Dupo, Illinois and an active member of Dupo First Baptist Church. She spent many years serving as a Hospice Volunteer along with her brother Bill. She enjoyed nothing more than spreading love to others. In fact, when asked what she hoped her children and grandchildren had learned from her, the answer came quickly, "to be loving and kind." She is preceded in death by her parents,  Charlotte and Howard Wettig and her brother, William "Bill" Wettig.

JoAnn is survived by her brother, Dennis "Denny" Wettig (Nancy), four children: Cindy Morgan (Russell), Sandy Steenbergen, Linda Schaeffer and Keith Zaricor (Carol); 14 grandchildren and two great grandchildren. She will also be lovingly remembered by cousins, nieces, nephews, and countless friends

Pallbearers will be Keith Zaricor, Russell Morgan, Howard Morgan, Richard Morgan, Parker Lawrence and Kyle Roberts.  Honorary pallbearers will be Dennis Wettig, Austin Schaeffer, Joshua Kremer, Kyle Zaricor and Cameron Zaricor.

Visitation will be from 9:00 AM until service time Saturday at Owens Memorial Chapel. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Premier Hospice or Gideons.
