Jimmy was born July 24, 1931 to the union of Benjamin and Vivian Washam and died August 14, 2018.  He grew up in Ansley where he worked at the sawmill before moving to Ruston.  Jimmy was a general manager of contractors for Ruston Lumber until it was sold.  He then worked for a lumber co. and a feed store in Arcadia.  Later he worked as a greeter at True Value until he retired.  Jimmy loved spending time with his family and his cats.  He enjoyed gardening, fishing, and hunting.  Jimmy was a member of Mineral Springs Baptist Church in Dubach.

Jimmy is preceded in death by his parents, wife: Betty, and an infant brother.

Jimmy is survived by his children: Thelma "TJ" Brown, Marie Elaine Rea, and Sherry Washam; grandchildren: Shawn Washam and wife Kelly, Theresa Coats, Amy Arnold and husband Billy, Mark Mathews, Carrissa Martin and husband Tim, Nikki Brown and Brandon Calhoun; brother: Dean Washam and wife Carolyn; 7 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild and a host of other family and friends.

Serving as pallbearers are: Shawn Washam, Johnny Sherrill, Tim Martin, Brandon Calhoun, Jerry Burns and Terry Hughes.  Honorary pallbearers are Charlie Jackson and Dean Washam.

Visitation will be held from 12:30 PM until time of service at 2:00 PM, Saturday, August 18, 2018 at Owens Memorial Chapel in Ruston.
