Funeral services for Mr. Jason Shane Porter, age 48 of Calhoun, LA will be held at 2:00 PM, Wednesday, September 14, 2022 at Owens Memorial Chapel Funeral Home in Ruston, LA with Rev. Brad Jones officiating. Burial will follow in the Vienna Cemetery in Ruston under the direction of Owens Memorial Chapel Funeral Home.

Jason was born on October 3, 1973 to Drusilla McNeese Porter Robinson and Dwight Porter in Monroe, LA, and he passed away on September 7, 2022 in Tyler, TX. He enjoyed trucking, and he would photograph his journeys through cities and through snow storms. Jason was an avid LSU fan and showed it proudly. He loved to fish, and he would talk about anything under the sun. Jason was preceded in death by his parents.

Jason is survived by his step-father Jimmy Robinson; brother Kevin Porter; four children: Austin Porter, Shawn Porter, Brittany Porter, and Brandon Porter; nephew Josh Porter; and a host of family and friends.

Serving as pallbearers will be Kevin Porter, Austin Porter, Josh Porter, Corbin Boykin, and Sean Madden.

Visitation will be 12:30-2:00 PM, Wednesday, September 14, 2022 at Owens Memorial Chapel Funeral Home.
