Funeral services for Jane "Janie" Aulds Fontenot, 60 of Thibodaux are scheduled for 10:00 AM Wednesday, September 15, 2021 at Owens Memorial Chapel In Ruston with Rev. Dallas Witt officiating. Burial will follow in Simsboro City Cemetery under the direction of Owens Memorial Chapel of Ruston. Janie died Wednesday, September 8, 2021 in Thibodaux, LA.

Janie was a humble servant of the Lord who loved her family and her music. She was tough, putting herself through nursing school while raising her four children. She was a joy to be around with her humor and positive attitude. Janie enjoyed a healthy lifestyle and rode her bike often. her love of the Lord and her music allowed her to share her joy in the church by playing the piano in the worship band for nearly twenty years. Janie was alongtime member of Life Church in Ruston, formerly known as South Parkway. She is preceded in death by her parents, Aubrey and Lettie  Aulds and her daughter, Melody Herring.

Janie is survived by her husband of fourteen years, Thomas Fontenot of Thibodaux, LA. Sons, Josh Herring of Ruston, Luke Herring and fiance' Faith of Farmerville and Ethan Herring and wife Katie of Hot Springs, AR. Grandchildren, Abby Herring and Bradley Herring. Sisters, Susan Aulds, Angela Hitt and Jennifer Jackson. Brother, Robert Aulds.

Pallbearers will be Jamey Herring, David Herring, Rodney Aulds, Bobby Aulds, Jesse Flowers and Andy Richardson. Honorary pallbearers will be Bradley Herring and Jimmy Mack.

Visitation will be 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM Tuesday, September 14, 2021 at Owens Memorial Chapel in Ruston.
