Funeral services for Mr. James Warren Morrow, age 90 of Ruston, LA, will be held at 10:00 AM, Monday, September 24, 2018 at Owens Memorial Chapel with Rev. Charles Coleman officiating.  Burial will follow in the Tubbs Cemetery in Hico, LA under the direction of Owens Memorial Chapel Funeral Home of Ruston, LA.

James began his career working for Paul Tubbs hauling logs before being drafted into the U.S. Navy during WW II.  He and his brother, Billy Joe were in the logging business together.  He ran heavy equipment during the day and sawed logs all night.  He also cleaned out water wells for neighbors and friends and he loved fishing.  He was preceded in death by his wife, Gloria Jean Cooper Morrow; his parents, Joe and Essie Morrow; two brothers: Percy Morrow and Billy Joe Morrow and one sister, Sybil Davis.

James is survived by his son: Joe Morrow and wife Judy of Dubach, LA; two daughters: Alice and husband Tommy Byrnside of Ruston, LA and Linda and husband Joe Lee Brazzel of Dubach, LA; grandchildren: Remona and husband Chuck Turner, Tina Byrnside and Patrick, Tom Byrnside and wife Katherine, Regina and husband Gary Puffer, April and husband Josh Blades, Samantha and husband Samuel Myers and Susie Morrow; thirteen great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

Serving as pallbearers will be Josh Blades, Samuel Myers, Gary Puffer, Devin Behan, Chuck Turner and Steven Deese.  Honorary pallbearer is Kevin Turner.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM, Sunday, September 23, 2018 at Owens Memorial Chapel.
