Memorial Services for James Collins Meredith, age 81 of Ruston, LA, will be held at 1:00 PM, Thursday, September 28, 2023 at Life Church at 3000 S. Vienna Street in Ruston, LA with Pastor Dallas Witt and Andy Richardson officiating.

Mr. Meredith passed away Monday, September 25, 2023 at his home after a long illness.  He was a Tug Boat Captain for most of his life and loved being on the water. He was honorably discharged from the U.S. Army.  James was preceded in death by his father, Woodrow H. Meredith; his mother, Iris Skinner Meredith; his wife, Barbara Sauce Meredith; two sisters, Peggy Latham and Dolores Mitchell; four brothers; Sydney Meredith, Donnie Meredith, Keith Meredith, and Ricky Meredith.

James is survived by his son, David A. Barnett and his wife Robin J. Barnett of Morgan City, LA; a brother, Woodrow Daryl Meredith, of West Monroe, and a sister, Jackie Meredith Bratka of Ruston.

Visitation will be from 11:30 AM until service time Thursday at the church.
