Funeral services for Mr. James Ferrell Martin will be held on Wednesday, July 29, 2020 at 10:00 A.M. at Rock Corner Baptist Church with Bro. Greg Tipton officiating. Interment will follow in the Mineral Springs Baptist Church Cemetery under the direction of Owens Memorial Chapel Funeral Home of Ruston, LA.

On Saturday, July 25, 2020, James Ferrell Martin, loving husband and father of three children, went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ at the age of seventy while tending his garden. Ferrell was born on February 28, 1950 in Ruston, LA to Joseph Ferrell Martin and Elon Faye Glass Martin.  Ferrell served thirty years on the Mineral Springs Water System Board.  He was a member of Mineral Springs Baptist Church.

Ferrell had a passion for living and a spirit to be a servant of the community.  He loved to hunt and fish, when he was physically able, and gardening regardless.

Ferrell was preceded in death by his parents and the mother to his two sons, Debra Lynn Lilley Martin. He is survived by his wife, Jennie Sue Martin; sons: Lee and wife Tanya Martin and James and wife Dakota; daughter Aubree and husband Chris Impson; grandchildren: Trent Martin, Tristan and Colby Impson, Bentley and Raelynn Cox; sister: Susan Martin and brother, Bevon Martin and a host of other family members.

Serving as pallbearers will be Will Billberry, Joe Glass, Duck Norman, Sidney Billberry, Randall Lilley, T.J. Cranford, Alvin Norman and Cade Leggett. Honorary pallbearers are Gary Lilley and Phillip Billberry.

Visitation will be from 5:00 – 7:00 P.M., Tuesday, July 28, 2020 at Rock Corner Baptist Church.
