Graveside services for James E. King, age 67 of Ruston, LA will be held at 10:00 A.M., Saturday, April 18, 2020 at Kilpatrick Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Ruston, LA with Pastor Greg Tipton of Mineral Springs Baptist Church officiating.  Services will be under the direction of Owens Memorial Chapel Funeral Home of Ruston, LA.

James was born April 23, 1952 in Charleston, AR and died April 15, 2020 in Ruston, LA. He was a resident of Ruston since 1980. James did many things in his life from carpentry to owning a dirt construction company for many years in the Ruston area. He enjoyed hunting and talked often about his hunting trips with Marty Edmunds. Something most people didn't know about him, is his love of watching birds, such as Hummingbirds and Purple Martins.

James is preceded in death by his parents:  Gorman and Sybil King; and his older brother, Lee Roy Booker.

James is survived by his daughter Niki and husband Tommy Scroggins; son:  Bryan King and wife Karla; seven grand kids and five great grand kids.

Serving as pallbearers will be:  Kristian Scroggins, Colby King, Caleb Backus, Will Billberry, Marty Edmunds and Connor King.
