Funeral services for James “Jim” Robert Haynes, age 48 of Ruston, LA, will be held at 2:00 PM, Tuesday, September 8, 2026 at Temple Baptist Church Chapel with Rev. Dale Oden officiating. Burial will be at Greenwood Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Owens Memorial Chapel Funeral Home of Ruston, LA.

Jim loved eagles and wolves. He enjoyed spending time with his grandmother Mary Alice Harlan. If he knew you ever wanted something, he would try his best to get it for you. Jim loved playing dominoes and card games. He also enjoyed winning and always played to win. Jim liked to cook and also fish. He was a member of Temple Baptist Church and loved attending Sunday School when he was able. Jim was always an early bird if there was somewhere for him to be.

Jim was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Frances Haynes; grandparents, Lescar and Mary Alice Harlan and John and Laverne Glass; uncle, Tinker Harlan; and niece, Amber Nicole Haynes.

He is survived by his father, Fred Haynes of Dubach, LA; sisters, Angel Polston of Dundee, MI, Polly Humble and husband Seth of Dubach, LA, and Georgianna Oliveaux of Ruston, LA; aunt, Becky Strozier and husband John of Ruston, LA; and niece and numerous nephews.

Visitation will be held from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM, prior to the service, Tuesday, September 8, 2026 at Temple Baptist Church.
