Funeral services for Mrs. Jackie Elizabeth Mathewes Jenkins, age 78 of Dubach, LA will be held at 10:00 AM, Monday, September 19, 2022 at Owens Memorial Chapel Funeral Home in Ruston, LA with Bro. Jim Davis officiating. Burial will follow in the Pecan Cemetery in Dubach under the direction of Owens Memorial Chapel Funeral Home.

Jackie Elizabeth Mathewes Jenkins went to be with the Lord on September 16, 2022 at the age of 78. Jackie was born to parents Wesley and Eloise Mathewes on September 3, 1944. Jackie was a lifelong resident of Ruston, Louisiana. She was previously a teacher at Calhoun Elementary, worked at Ruston Furniture Exchange, and retired from LA Tech Library. She was a member of Ruston Church of Christ. She loved the outdoors and working in her yard.

She was preceded in death by her parents, infant sister Doyce, father and mother-in-law Troy and Reba Jenkins, and brother-in-law J.B. Jenkins.

She is survived by her husband of 55 years Tommy Jenkins, sister Jean Gutierrez and husband Raymond, brother Jerry Mathewes and Kim, brother Ray Mathewes and wife Debbie, sister-in-law Nancy and brother-in-law Allen White, and numerous nieces and nephews.
